about.

Our goal is to create work that is both imaginative and workable. We treat each project as a chance to merge what is practical with what is visionary.

We start with the real conditions of a project, the site, the program, the constraints, and use them as raw material for new possibilities.

Architecture, interiors, brand, and product are all part of the same design ecosystem: shaping how people live, work, and connect. We look for simple ideas that solve multiple needs at once, translating them into built forms that feel intuitive, surprising, and grounded in everyday life.

Mike McElderry is the founder and creative director of FRAYM, a design practice shaped by a deep belief that design is a cultural act long before it becomes a physical product. His work moves fluidly across architecture, interiors, brand, and product, guided by the conviction that ideas must be both precise and expressive, rooted in the specific conditions of a place.

With a background leading design at global studios including Henning Larsen, Perkins&Will, and DS+R, he brings a perspective that is both cosmopolitan and intimate: a sensitivity to materials and atmosphere paired with a rigor for clarity, systems, and narrative. FRAYM is where those instincts converge, where form, memory, and context are treated with equal seriousness.

At FRAYM, McElderry works at the scale of experience as much as the scale of buildings. He is drawn to projects that ask for more than solutions, projects that require a point of view, an argument, and a distilled sense of purpose. His design approach is iterative and investigative, weaving together research, intuition, and the quiet discipline of editing.

Whether shaping early concept frameworks, diagramming spatial relationships, or defining a visual identity, he pursues ideas that feel inevitable rather than imposed. FRAYM is less a studio than an ongoing inquiry into how design can clarify, elevate, and meaningfully engage the world around it.
